Who We Are
Noor Association for People with Disabilities is a registered Palestinian non-profit organization (registration number BL-3394-C), based in Aida Refugee Camp in Bethlehem. It was founded in 2010 through an initiative led by mothers of children with disabilities from the Aida and Azza camps, in response to an urgent need: mothers who had to travel long distances to access rehabilitation services for their children. The association obtained official registration from the Ministry of Interior in 2015, and has grown to become the only specialized institution providing comprehensive rehabilitation services within Aida Camp.
Our Context — Aida Camp
Aida Camp is located in the Bethlehem–Beit Jala area, covering no more than 0.71 km², and suffers from severe overcrowding and a scarcity of services. It is estimated that more than 400 people with disabilities live within the camp with limited services. These challenges are compounded by frequent electricity and water outages, road closures, and chronic economic pressures resulting from the occupation. From the heart of this reality, Noor was born to be a space for dignity and hope.
