Every small step leads to a greater journey — at Noor, we celebrate the courage behind every milestone.
Story #1: Ahmad — Walking into His Future
Diagnosis: Hemiplegia (partial paralysis on one side)
Age: 5 years
Location: Aida Refugee Camp
Ahmad came to Noor Society barely able to move his right side. Diagnosed with hemiplegia after a birth complication, he struggled with balance and mobility. Through consistent physiotherapy and occupational therapy sessions over 10 months, Ahmad began to regain muscle strength.
Today, he walks independently to school, plays with his siblings, and dreams of becoming a football player. His smile is now filled with confidence and joy — and his steps tell a story of resilience.
Story #2: Layan — Finding Her Voice
Diagnosis: Severe speech delay and articulation disorder
Age: 4 years
Location: Al-Azza Camp
Layan did not speak a single word when she first arrived at Noor Society. Her family was anxious and unsure where to turn. After assessment, she began intensive speech and language therapy three times a week.
Within 6 months, Layan could name her family members, express her needs, and even sing simple songs. Today, she talks non-stop — a source of pride and amazement for her parents.
Story #3: Rami — From Isolation to Integration
Diagnosis: Autism Spectrum Disorder
Age: 7 years
Location: Bethlehem
Rami struggled to connect with others. He avoided eye contact, was non-verbal, and showed signs of sensory overload. At Noor Society, he received a customized therapy plan combining behavioral therapy, sensory integration, and parent guidance.
Over a year, Rami made remarkable progress. He now uses picture exchange communication (PECS), greets his classmates, and participates in group learning activities. Rami's parents describe Noor as the place where their son "found his world."
